Girls* Climb On (GCO)

Girls* Climb On (GCO) is designed for youth in grades 6-10. Through this program, students climb at local Bay Area climbing gyms, including Movement in San Francisco and Pacific Pipe in Oakland. This program is a great fit for everyone from a first-time climber to a seasoned GCO participant. The emphasis of this program is top-rope, bouldering, building strength, technique, and group support. Each youth works with an adult mentor to learn climbing and belaying skills in an expansive gym environment. There are 7-9 sessions that last 3-4 hours. Sessions include warm-up exercises, snack breaks, and a reflective curriculum that deepens and builds upon the experience of awareness, patience, and trust involved in the sport of climbing.

Girls Climb On will Resume in Fall 2025
