GirlVentures’ Alumnae entering 10th & 11th grade who have completed a multi-day GirlVentures course. Alum from our sister programs at Passages Northwest, Women’s Wilderness Institute and Dirt Divas are also welcome!
DESCRIPTION
This 9-day backpacking expedition through the stunning Point Reyes National Seashore will prepare you for future leadership roles with GirlVentures and other outdoor education organizations. In a familiar landscape you will have a whole new adventure as you approach it through the eyes of an Instructor-In-Training. You will prepare lesson plans, practice teaching, and learn how to keep younger girls engaged.
We start with a day at the Fort Miley Challenge Course and spend the rest of our time in the field teaching each others. We will spend our last night in style at the Point Reyes Youth Hostel before returning home for your rite of passage into the “Instructor” world.
Alumnae from this course can apply to become Assistant Instructors for GirlVentures and/or join our Girls Advisory Board.

Payment Policies & Financial Aid
To ensure that ALL girls have the opportunity to participate in our programs, we award financial aid to two-thirds of all participants.

Please note that our 2012 course is now full. If you would like to be put on the wait list, please feel free to fill out the application but DO NOT pay the application fee. We will contact you if space becomes available.
