Frank Valley Horse Camp on Muir Woods Road
This hike is a fun, adventurous way to experience the natural beauty of the California coast while supporting GirlVentures’ mission to empower adolescent girls to develop and express their strengths. All ages are welcome!
GirlVentures awards scholarships to two-thirds of all participants. By registering for this event you are helping to ensure that ALL girls have access to these empowering programs. But why stop there?
You can start a fundraising page and help us reach our goal of $30,000. There is no minimum fundraising amount required to participate – collect what you can. The suggested individual goal is $100.
The scenic hike will take you through many diverse environments, from lush redwood canyons to oak woodlands, and is great for beginners and experienced hikers:
The 3-mile route is a relatively flat, out and back hike with a fun activity station at the turnaround point.
The 7-mile route is a loop that begins relatively flat and continues into a steady climb with an elevation gain of about 1,000ft. The beautiful surroundings and your fellow hikers will keep you motivated on your the way to the top, where you will be rewarded with a stunning view of the Pacific Ocean on a clear day. The rest of the trail is downhill.
8:30 am – GirlVenture-hosted Breakfast
9:00 am – Check-in for your numbered bib
9:30 am – Orientation by GirlVentures’ staff
9:45 am – Hike for as long as you like! (bring a water bottle and snack)
1:00 pm – High-fives for all

Online registration will open two months before the event.
Directions
Frank Valley Horse Camp is on Muir Woods Road between the main entrance to Muir Woods National Park and the Pacific Ocean. There is NO cell phone reception in this area. Please review the directions below BEFORE you jump in the car.
