Assistant Instructors
These young women are some of our most dedicated alumnae. They have completed Project Courage, Transitions or On the Rise as participants and have returned to take on the challenge of stepping into the role of peer leader.
Anika
Anika came to GirlVentures in 2009 and participated in Project Courage. She returned in 2011 to learn more about her own teaching style in our instructor-in-training course, On The Rise. Now she is putting those skills into practice as our Assistant Instructor for Girlz Climb On (San Francisco).
Arikai
After instructing for Transitions in 2009 and for Girlz Climb On in the spring of 2008, Arikai became our AI for Project Courage in 2010. She has also served three terms on our Girls Advisory Board (her last as the peer-elected Co-Chair). In 2011 we came on board as our Office Intern, where she continues to shine.
Connie
Connie started with GirlVentures in 2007. She has graduated from Project Courage and On The Rise. She is also a member of the the Girlz Advisory Board. In 2011 she put her leadership skills into practice as our Assistant Instructor on the June Project Courage.
Emily
Emily started with GirlVentures in 2006. She has graduated from Project Courage and Transitions. She is also an Outward Bound Pinnacles alum. In 2011 she put her leadership skills into practice as our Assistant Instructor on Transitions.
Flavia
Flavia started with GirlVentures in 2007. She has graduated from Girlz Climb On, Project Courage, On The Rise, and sits on our Girls Advisory Board. In 2011 she put her leadership skills into practice as our fall Girlz Climb On (Oakland) Assistant Instructor.
Shania
Shania participated in Girlz Climb on for two semesters and then went on to graduate from Transitions and On The Rise. In 2011 she came back to Girlz Climb On as the spring Assistant Instructor in San Francisco and is also a member of GAB.
Rebecca
Rebecca has continued to hone her leaderships skills from the day she joined us on Project Courage in 2007. She has graduated from Girlz Climb On, Transitions, and On The Rise. In 2011 she put all that learning into practice as the Assistant Instructor on the Project Courage course in July.
Olivia
Olivia joined GirlVentures in 2009 for our after-school rock climbing program. She then went on to participate in Project Courage that same year. Taking her experience to the next level, Olivia became our spring Girlz Climb On (Oakland) Assistant Instructor in 2011.
